James Bond was, perhaps, one of the hottest and best loved characters that graced the popular culture. Ian Fleming created the legendary agent in 1953, with the killer looks and wits to match. He, however, remained enigmatic; always kept hidden under the code 007. Intrigue was created with his personality. He, who had “Danger” for a middle name, was the picture of a daredevil. This British super secret agent was all that. Name it, he had it: the classic handsome demeanor, impressive intelligence, cunning ways, and cool espionage devices and cars. James Bond was once but a character from a novel and as he got so popular, he was turned into a movie icon, a few years later. His character gave Hollywood its largest, financially successful, movie installment. It also created images that began smashing mens double breasted suit tips especially for men , who are fond wearing tuxedo shirts, that Mr. Bond himself carried so well. Even cars used in the movies such as the famous gray Aston Martin, which has evolved through the his series of movies, created buzz . His dashing demeanor also made him the most sought after bachelor with gorgeous women flocking for him. Each of the novels and movies of him would mean a different heroine . Part of his charm is his smooth ways with women and the his amazing eyes would bore into the soul of his current flame. He, indeed, has embodied a “womanizer”.
James Bond also had some major public impact. He inspired many other medium such as books, video games, television series and other movies mimicking the famous agent. Austin Powers and Johnny English, just to name some, only proves the influence of the great 007 .
James Bond is a fictional character that happens to be the picture of what seems to be the perfect man out to save the world. It just goes to show, people are amazing when it comes to creating images of individuals that will, in no way, exist in reality.
